It’s been 2 weeks since I injured my elbow. Can’t even lift a 2lb weight without hurting. Finally got a doctor appointment on Monday, to find out what the exact injury is. Meanwhile I’m losing muscle mass and I don’t know how or what to do in order to keep my little muscles. I can’t grip anything without pain. It really sucks.
In other news, I am working on transitioning to a whole food vegetable based diet. I haven’t had red meat and very little dairy for 2 weeks now. I can’t say how its affected my performance because I haven’t been performing much. Mostly concentrating on cardio and legs. I have been trying to run again after 3 months. It is very hard for me. I couldn’t even run 3 miles in 40 minutes last night. Pitiful. I guess that’s expected when you quit for so long.
Anyways, I found that I don’t miss meat much and after watching “Forks over Knives”, I don’t think I’ll ever want to eat it again, or drink cows milk. I’ve been experimenting with more vegetable meals and smoothies. Searching for new recipes constantly. I even bought tofu, just haven’t been brave enough to try it yet. Chia seeds and quinoa are added, flax seeds, and oats more often. Its really not that difficult. Overall I’m doing well, just can’t lift and that sucks.
I highly recommend almond milk!
