All of my hard work, education, praying, and dedication to leadership is finally paying off. What I thought would never happen is actually happening.
17 years of being a floor nurse is finally coming to an end. In one week I will take over the Intermediate Care Unit as the nurse manager.
My dreams and prayers are finally being answered. I will get to fulfill my purpose and serve as a leader to help my team deliver the best patient care ever.
I am excited and scared. I have so much to learn and so many more different challenges to face. I’m leaving what I know and entering into the unknown.
My first goal is to learn about my team and gain their trust. I have about 20 employees to convince that I can add value to them and to the unit.
I can’t believe I will not be a critical care nurse anymore. I pray that this is the path God intended for me.
