8/25/15- Day 18-food,diet, calorie, workout challenge–just another day, striving to improve, saving lives

Yep, its another day, I don’t have much to say about today. I worked all day. The most exciting thing of the day was when I got to stop a heart from beating…just for a few seconds though with a medication called Adenosine. When someone has a heart rate in the 150’s while resting and it won’t stop we give them different meds to try to get it down. If Digoxin or Cardizem doesn’t work, we try Adenosine it goes in the IV fast. If it works right it stops the heart and puts it back into a normal rhythm. Most of the time it works fine, but sometimes the heart might not restart. That’s why we have the code cart in the room. It’s pretty cool what some meds can do. Pretty scary sometimes too.

My meals pretty boring same as every day, but that’s okay. It’s simple and I’m not creative or I just don’t have the time to be creative. I like it simple and easy.

Breakfast -Egg whites, turkey bacon, cheese, taco sauce, and OJ. Snack -Chocolate Luna Bar and mozzarella stick.

Lunch -BBQ chicken breast, broccoli, 100 cal. greek yogurt, and 12 almonds. Snack -turkey breast deli meat and Dove dark chocolate bar

Dinner – Tuna pouch, Whey protein shake, and a mozzarella stick

Post workout whey protein

Total -1485 Calories, Fat-45, Carbs-95, Protein-179

Workout  15 minutes on the bike warm-up. Chest Pesses went up 2lbs to 62 lbs., I did reps of 8,7,6,5. Triceps extensions-15lbs. 3 sets of 10, Flys- 10lbs. 3xs10, Crushers the same, 24 pushups, 28 dips, then did 45 squats with 20Lb. front weight, then 30 jumping jacks, then 30 regular front weight squats. Then 30 calf raises. Much better than the last time. My goal is to get 3 sets of 10 on the chest presses, then I’ll move up to 65Lbs. Someday I will bench 100 lbs. My progress may be slow but at least I’m making progress.
